I felt the burning urge to rewatch this film a few weeks ago, but only got around to it now. Sadly, I hear the creator of the character, Dave Stevens recently passed away. It was a real tragedy that this film came out to little or no marketing from Disney and consequently didn't do well, because from the people who've seen it, it's...
Here's the latest piece of viral marketing from Warner Bros - the awesome new poster for Dark Knight. That's a nice piece of artwork. I'm really looking forward to the next Batman installment. It's a great time for comics movies, Iron Man will be out soon, then Dark Knight, Watchmen, Incredible Hulk. It's all good! Here's the latest piece of viral marketing from...
I've seen the original and it's pretty good, certainly closer to the original text than this one. That's not too say that the story is bad in this remake, just different. The only criticism story-wise for the new one, is that it feels like it sort of sags between reaching the far future and the Morlocks appearance. But certainly the effects are fantastic,...
Well almost had a job this week. As Maxwell Smart would say "Missed it by that much!". Basically looked like I had the job, until another employee at the company bought they're friend in, and they gave the job to that person. Don't you hate it when that happens. It's not like other people have gone to any effort, preparing materials, applying for...
You know, you might think that having no work and effectively being on holiday would be fun. But it isn't. It's like holiday's without any fun, or prison time... Being stuck at home with no adult contact, unable to go anywhere because it costs too much money for petrol, and even if you did go somewhere you can't do anything because moneys an...
Day 2 of Supanova was more of the same really, but quieter. I wasn't entirely surprised, Armageddon's usually the same too. Sunday is always quieter. Although it's good to see some of the same people from Saturday back again. Sold a few books today, but not very many sketches. I think either the Sunday crowd are more frugal, or most people have already...
Well here I am all on my lonesome working the booth at Supanova (although I do have my very supportive wife alongside). We've bought Olive with us, and she's been a tremendous drawcard. People flock to the booth to see her, and then get New Ground comics thrust at them. I was surprised when we were waved over by Lou Ferrigno this afternoon....
Well got a bit of a shock this afternoon. Went into work, worked my ass off on getting the material for McD's finished, but got a call from my wife that I hadn't been paid again. So once again, engaging in our usual fortnightly ritual, I contacted the Boss's to find out why I wasn't paid and what was going on. Bit frustrating,...
I know people go on about how great Blazing Saddles or Young Frankenstein is, and sure they're good, but my favourite Mel Brooks comedy has always been Spaceballs. It's got a very funny cast, great jokes and nods to sci-fi films, and Rick Moranis is absolutely priceless as Dark Helmet. Even my kids find it hilarious. Highly recommended if you like parody films.Plot...
Got a call from school this morning. About 15 minutes after dropping Beeb off, he managed to whack himself in the head with a steel baseball bat. He's struggling to remember what happened, and as usual everybody around him is swearing they had nothing to do with it, but he thinks the other boys were throwing lots of balls at him, he hit...
